Winton hired Earl Kiser to drive Bullet No. 2 after Oldfield went to Peerless, then asked shop mechanic Charles Gorndt to drive Bullet No. 3. While not showing either racing car, this ad from Life magazine of September 22, 1904 notes that neither driver had previously driven a Winton race car.
